I feel like I say this every season, but really…one minute it’s winter, and the next it’s springtime.  Bananas.  We really didn’t get a winter this year.  Because sixty degrees doesn’t count as winter.  If you’re going to hold a title such as winter, Winter, you better be cold and I wanna see some snow.  Make a note of it for next year.  DO YOU HEAR ME?!  Now I’m working on the in-between weather outfits.  Do I wear sweaters or short sleeves, boots, or sandals.  Daytime it’s warm, evening it’s chilly.  Bi-polar weather.  You just can’t win.

He had just started to get sick and was having trouble walking, but we decided to go anyways.  He came after work on a gorgeous spring day and we drove into the city together with the rest of the tourist crowds.  We walked slowly, maneuvering over and navigating the protruding roots, towards the tidal basin and sat down on the concrete wall.  We didn’t say much, just sat next to each other taking in the sights of DC as the dainty, peachy pink, colored petals came down like snow.  I had my camera with me and thoroughly documented the afternoon.  An afternoon that I will never forget.  Just me and my dad, and some of the most beautiful cherry blossoms.

Although I know sometimes weathermen predict the weather and all, I would just like to set the record straight and say that we will not be getting any big snow storms this year.  And that little gold nugget of information is a direct result of me buying snow boots.  After traipsing around last year in three feet of snow in black boots with heels, I thought that just maybe I should own a pair of boots well equipped for cold weather.  Therefore now that I have them, you may now rest assured that the snow storm threats for the rest of winter, are now over.
