Op-FedEx.

This week has been a ridiculous package week and I absolutely love getting packages! My level of enthusiasm would probably be no different if a box came and there was a sole post-it note in it, versus a real live horse stuffed in a box. It’s kinda like eating a four scoop ice cream sunday with Auntie’s homemade hot fudge sauce, chocolate chips, oreo cookie crums, and 27 cherries on top. Yes, it’s that magnificent.

This week I have received a package Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Not sure what happened to Wednesday but I certainly saved the best for last…although yesterday’s wasn’t as easy as the other ‘left on my doorstep and knock’ packages. This one involved jumping out of bed at 945 with one eye still sleeping, and looking out the window only to realize that my FedEx man was driving away with my package… the one that was supposed to be on my doorstep! I threw on a sweatshirt, scaled three flights of steps, threw the car into drive and flew around the corner to see if I could find him. I lost him, but I certainly wasn’t going to give up that easily. I sped up and down the streets of Bethesda and finally found him just as he parked and took a big stack of packages into another building. All stealth like, I parked my car across the street and waited for him to come out…he had to come out eventually and I would be right there, sneak attack him, and throw down for my package. I was ready. So he came out and yada yada, I finally got my box.

Not sure if you know what it means…but trust me, a box from here is always a good thing.

Here she be, my prized possession:

And right before I left work yesterday my old manager showed up with this bag of boxes for me…no they aren’t all for me, just a couple :)

So… if you have any sweet packages….feel free to send em’ my way

M.J. Love - Megan,

Funny story. I would’ve jumped out of the trees like a ninja and started talking like those Kung Fu guys on the movies whose speech is out of sync with the English language. He wouldn’t had a chance. I hope you’d enjoyed your gift at Armin’s GTG at the Harbor? – M.J.November 13, 2008 – 12:09 pm

David Jay, and [b]ecker.

Have you ever met your favorite celeb?
Ok, not only meet, but have you hung out with them, and sat there and had a conversation?

Well…it’s been a couple of days since I attended the Freedom to Succeed tour, and I must say I’m still hyped up. It was absolutely amazing! I still have a big olde grin across my face.

Just the other day I was feeling down because I felt I was going no where, and had no photog friends, or people to guide me. I guess I spoke too soon, cause boy did my prayers get answered.

I got to meet David Jay who is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Often people in the photography industry are in it for themselves, and only look out for numero uno. DJ was so willing to tell his story, share his struggles, and give his advice to help people like me, who aren’t at his level yet. And let me tell you…it wasn’t just any joe schmo advice. They were things that he does…his workflow(which he said takes less than two hours…WOW), efficiency, value, listening, pricing and so many more to help your photography business grow, and give you more “Freedom” in your life. Seriously though, he must have been reading my mind when he said something about staying up on your computer to the wee hours of the morning editing pictures…me, nahhhhhhh, no, not me, never. Ok that’s me.

Here I am with DJ and my new local photog friend Kristen Leigh.

After DJ spoke, [b]ecker gave his shpeal on networking. Becker had so many great tips and advice for making your way through the industry. Oh, and did I mention he is freakin hilarious…seriously, my face hurt from laughing so hard. The best part is he is so modest about his talents. I hung around with him before the seminar, and a bunch of us went to eat after the seminar, and it’s just like hanging out with an old friend.

Notice the big goofy grin as I’m thinking…’oh my god i can’t believe I’m hanging out with [b]ecker!’

Here is my great new group of photographer friends. Andreé, Kristen Leigh, me, and Peter Bang.

Me and Kenny Kim…uh…I thought we were supposed to be making funny faces.

My all time favorite: Jasmine Star. And…although her last tour stop was Boston, at least I got a picture with her…well kinda.

Here are a few more random pictures from Freedom to Succeed:
Stolen from Kenny Kim…and yes I’m aware I look like a retard.

It was a life/business changing seminar and I’m so thankful that I got to go and learn from some of the best in our field.
