My not so dreadful day.

This morning I had to wake up early to meet my arch-nemesis.
Or as some call him, the dentist.

Two years ago I went in for a normal check up. They had done all their cleaning, poking, and prodding but for some reason, I was still sitting in the chair. All alone, in the white room while everyone (mr. dentist, and ms. hygienist lady)
was standing in the hall talking about something.

Mr. Dentist comes back in the room and sits in his little seat and tells me to open again. Ok, clearly trusting Mr. Dentist, I opened. Then out of no where…STAB! AHHH what the hell is dude doing to me with this huge needle in my mouth!! (If you didn’t know I am DEATHLY afraid of needles) Repeat three times. Oh my gosh. I was in a full out sweat and I’m sure there was a puddle beneath the chair I was in. He leaves me sitting there with a mouth that can’t talk cause there is so much Novocaine in it and it’s drooping and drooling everywhere. GREAT. I love the dentist. He walks back in and then informs me that I’m having a root canal. WELL thank you Mr. Dentist for the advance notice.
That moment, I blacklisted the dentist, and it’s been two years.

My front bottom tooth has been bothering me lately, and no not the root canal one! So I finally got up the guts to call Mr. Dentist and make an appointment: June 12th. It was a dreadful fifty minute drive, my thoughts mostly consumed with something along the lines of ‘oh my god I hope it’s not a cavity’ and ‘he better not stab me again’ kind of thoughts.

Here’s where the going gets good…no cavity! Wow, it was like the heavens opened up and poured goodness and sunshine on me. They cleaned up the pearly whites, and said that it had been bothering me from calcium buildup…funny cause I don’t drink a lot of milk. Apparently that’s what happens from avoiding the regularly scheduled dentist visits. Go figure.

I can’t believe I snuck out of there unscathed.

There they are…aren’t they beuts.

Anonymous - yes well I had many years at the dentist and otho. with braces, surgeries.. and after that pain.. I hate going back.. but it’s been so long that well I probably have a lot of that calcium stuff:) Other than that good ole brushing and flossing!!

Anonymous - OMG, you’re too funny Megan! Poor Mr. Dentist though…. you really gave him a bad rap AND didn’t bother to mention how much you like him (with the exception of the root canal visit)! And how in the world does Nikki have such gorgeous teeth if she never goes to the dentist?!
