Adventures of Mr. P

Mom’s in her bedroom today trying to recover from a little stomach bug, when all of a sudden she hears a constant high pitched sqeual coming from the other end of the house. She heads towards the kitchen to check out what’s going on, and low and behold a parakeet is at the back window screaming in pain because it just flew into the window(the window’s were obviously washed with Windex).

So Mr. Parakeet is flying around the window and on the window sill trying to get into our house(still squealing from that darn glass they, I mean we, put up). Mom calls animal control, and they can’t do anything…so next best thing…she calls our neighbor Mr. Dave from down the road to help. He comes and of course just as soon as he(Mr. P) came, he left. Mom watched it and she said it flew away really high up in the sky. Mr. Dave left and Mom’s bird days were over…so she thought. I’m talking to her on the phone when she starts flipping out again “oh my god. oh my god. it’s back. it’s back. it’s back.” It clearly loves the addition we put on the house and wants to enjoy it, probably just for the afternoon. Mr. P tries to get through the glass window again with no luck. I tell mom to hang up and call Mr. Dave again.

Mr. Dave brought a big cage with him this time and Mr.P actually decided to give this new home a try.

Mom is now a new owner of runaway Mr. P. She of course isn’t going to keep him and put up signs around the neighborhood so Mr. P’s real parents can claim him. Although she is enjoying her new company and is trying to get him to talk (per my suggestion…’polly want a cracker’). Apparently they’re working on it. But when she does say something to him he squeaks back to her in the same tone…he’s obviously just a little shy. I’m sure that by tomorrow Mr. Parakeet will be telling Mom all about his runaway adventures.

This is not Mom’s Mr. P, but I’m still waiting on the pics from Mom’s photoshoot.

Anonymous - Yeah, well that doesn’t look like Mr. P because he’s not a parakeet, he’s a macaw. I’ve learned that macaws are very intelligent, can be very noisy and require a lot of one-on-one attention. He actually squeals when I leave the room! That’s some pretty fast bonding. I was pleasantly surprised, however, that he was quiet during the night. See if you can find a photo of a green macaw. Clearly I’m not the photographer in the family so I may not be able to get a good photo of him. Yes, it was quite an exciting day!

Wedding weekend festivites.

This weekend was Amanda and Brian’s wedding. I took a few (2000) pictures, so I’m still sifting through all of them. I promise I’ll have them up really really soon. So make sure you check back.

But…here are some pictures I can show you from the weekend.
They are with my little point and shoot, so no criticizing quality folks!

Paparazzi! Kudos to Auntie for capturing this one!

Bridesmaids. I love this one…half faces and all.

No ‘pre-wedding ceremony’ waiting would be complete
without champagne toast, and one last wet willy as a single lady.

Hopefully this should hold you over until I get the fancy shmancy ones up :)

ESM at Megan Beth Photography

I need a desk. A table. A stack of books. A big chair…it doesn’t matter. At twenty-four, I have the back of an eighty-year old grandma. Sitting on the floor at my oh-so- wonderful computer just isn’t cutting it anymore. My back is KILLING me! I’m saving up to buy me one of these babies….(although that could be forever)

Although today is officially May 1st, and this month we are supposed to receive a little chunk of
money Bush likes to call “Economic Stimulus Money.” I do recall “them” saying that you should spend it because that’s
the whole economy stimulating part. Ok. ok. don’t twist my arm, I’ll spend it.
Too bad I need to buy a ton of stuff, so looks like the desk is on the bottom of the list.

What are you going to spend your ESM on?

EDITED TO ADD May 9th, 2008: Yay! It finally came today…And it’s spent. :(
If you want to know when you will get yours, check out IRS.gov
